Career
Overview
Fractional Collaborator
Think of me as a drop-in member of your "brain trust," as one client aptly described. My extensive background in organizing and leadership, combined with my intuition, organizational skills, and creative juice has made me a vital collaborator in a number of projects around the world. Project management, community engagement, communications and branding, PR, ux design, media editing, event and conference management.
Intermediary / CBO* Director
With a brief interlude for graduate school, I spent over a decade helming grassroots *community-based organizations (CBOs) that provide equitable intermediary services for community arts, sustainability, and environmental justice initiatives. Strategic direction, operations, finance, communications, fundraising, program evaluation, stakeholder and board engagement, and everything in between. I'm known for cultivating multicultural and diverse environments, people-centered leadership, and strong programs while growing revenues and maintaining a neatly balanced budget.
Creative Practitioner
While multidisciplinary, my primary medium as an artist, producer, and collaborator is live art and participatory performance. Although classically trained in Seattle and London, with contemporary training intensives in San Francisco and Toronto, my priority in creative producing is engaging with works that explore important issues of our time and push the boundaries of staging or medium. Primary interests: participatory and transdisciplinary performance, embodiment, folk practices, performative media (immersive audio nonfiction and interactive tech), accessibility, multilingualism, Deaf/ASL, site-specific, immersive, placemaking, facilitated storytelling. Themes: socioeconomics, ecology, queerness and feminism.
Social Worker
My career origins are in direct service for Missouri's largest homeless services agency. My focus was on post-incarceration and chronic homelessness. Trauma-informed care, curriculum development, counseling, group facilitation.
